OUR STORY

Baking runs in my family. Generation to generation, the women on my mother’s side were bakers. The joy we would experience by simply baking up a recipe and sharing it with another person, was inexplicable. From the smiles and gratitude received to the tears shed from a much needed act of kindness, it was fulfilling to our soul.

 

Starting in 2019 our quest for the perfect cupcake, soon became a mission to provide baked goods that could be enjoyed by the masses, regardless of food allergy or sensitivity.

 

In June of 2021, it was through prayer that we were called to relocate back to our hometown from Elizabeth, PA. Within 60 days, we had sold our first home and all of our belongings to fund what would be our first brick-and-mortar store in Naples, FL. So with dog and kids in tow, I packed up a small u-haul trailer and set off on an 1800 mile hike back home and moved in with family in hopes of making this dream a reality.

 

After many obstacles and doubts of sanity, we are scheduled to open our doors to the public this July/August 2022. Our 900 sq. ft. shop will feature childhood favorites such as cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and even edible dough by the spoonfuls. Good ol’ southern banana pudding and creamy milkshakes. All 100% vegan and gluten free.

 

This God led business doesn’t just stop at serving up sweet comfort food, in addition to this we will be tithing 10% of our profits each month to give back to our hometown community. Let it be through addiction recovery, feeding the hungry, or helping to sustain services meant to shelter and protect abused women. Our goal is to help shower love to those in need in Naples. We will also be blessing someone each week through customer supported nominations so keep an eye out for the jar near our register.

INGREDIENTS

FLOUR BLEND: our flour blend is unique to CĀK’D. We use a combination of rice flours, starches, protein powder, and fiber powders to create a cake that supersedes any in comparison out there on the market in regards to moisture retention, flavor, and texture. Ceylon cinnamon, Madagascar Bourbon vanilla beans, pure raspberry juice powder, Italian espresso, and real bits of carrots are just some of the ingredients used in our cakes.

The majority of our products are 100% nut free. Contact us to find out which ones are suitable for you. If you suffer from a severe nut allergy, please refrain from ordering through our bakery as cross contamination may be evident.

SWEET TALK

We use lesser refined sweeteners such as organic coconut sugar, maple sugar, and organic brown sugar cane, organic raw sugar cane, and medjool dates.

OUR BAKERY

Having a son with food allergies, and knowing how hard it is to find an allergen safe space for food production, we created a business so that everyone can enjoy a sweet indulgence. No gluten, dairy, or eggs will ever pass through our kitchen and only select ingredients contain Soy. Nuts are present in select flavors.

THE BAKER

I grew up among a family of female bakers. As a child I would see home-made cassata cakes, cannolis, biscotti cookies, and various pies being made within my mother’s, aunt’s, and grandmother’s kitchens. After battling with some health issues and gaining and losing hundreds of pounds, I realized that my love for all things sweet had to be re-evaluated. I ditched the caloricly dense options, the cardboard flavors, and the dried-out textures to create my OWN style and version. After a year of hundreds upon hundreds of failed attempts within my kitchen, I came up with the perfect little cake. Allergy friendly so all could enjoy, nutrient dense, and shockingly flavorful and indulgent. Soon after that success came a line of treats and creations forming the now known CAK’D. My struggles with my weight will always be present, but now I can enjoy a treat without my body beating me up for it or suffering the consequences. My quest to have my cake and eat it too, quickly became a passion to share with the world. Every flavor I create, it is created with an amount of drive, passion, and love that is unparalleled.
